Yogi Adityanath Inaugurates Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 as Thousands Gather in Varanasi

Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 opened in Varanasi with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath leading the inauguration alongside senior national leaders. Held at Namo Ghat from December 2–15, the festival hosts over 1,400 guests from Tamil Nadu and aims to strengthen cultural ties between northern and southern India through diverse programs.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath formally opened the fourth edition of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam in Varanasi on Monday, marking the beginning of a two-week cultural convergence aimed at deepening ties between northern and southern India. The inaugural ceremony drew a large audience and featured the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, along with the Governor of Tamil Nadu and the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.

Hosted at the scenic Namo Ghat from December 2 to December 15, this year’s Sangamam promises a series of vibrant cultural performances, inter-regional exchanges, and community interactions designed to celebrate shared heritage. According to officials, more than 1,400 guests from Tamil Nadu have arrived to participate, forming one of the largest delegations since the event was first launched.

The initiative, conceptualized as a cultural bridge, underscores efforts to reinforce historical connections between Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu through dialogue, art, tradition, and people-to-people engagement. Organizers emphasized that the event not only highlights the diversity of India’s cultural fabric but also strengthens national unity by bringing distant communities closer.

As the festival unfolds over the coming days, Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 is expected to serve as a significant platform for celebrating linguistic and cultural harmony, reaffirming Varanasi’s role as a meeting point of traditions that continue to bind the country together.
